Fred Tuccillo, an award-winning print and digital journalist, is the Senior Regional Editor for Central Jersey & The Shore. He joined Patch as Regional Editor for northern Monmouth County in September, 2010. As a reporter and editor, Fred has handled everything from local police and municipal stories to national politics and government. As a digital journalist, he led the development of Newsday.com and directed the transition of New Jersey Online to NJ.com.<br><br>Fred grew up on Long Island, attended Syracuse and Adelphi universities and worked for Newsday as a reporter, editor and new media director. His investigative work at Newsday earned him recognition as a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Special Local Reporting.<br><br>At Advance Internet, Fred managed websites affiliated with Newhouse newspapers in Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. His sites were twice honored with Editor & Publisher's Online EPpy Award. <br><br>He has also held senior editing positions with Gannett New Jersey and The Princeton Packet.<br><br> Fred has been a resident of Monmouth County since 1998.
