Fair Haven's Veterans Day Tribute

Everyone knows, loves and respects Fair Haven's oldest living vet — 92-year-old Ray Taylor, who served in World War II and the Korean War.

And Taylor, as one of the honored vets present at the Fair Haven Veterans Day Service, spoke in the stead of all about those who have passed, either as a casualty of war, age or illness, saying "they're gone, but they ain't forgotten."

He called upon the children to keep honor thriving and to show respect and love for their community as he had and still does.

"And all these children ... You're what it's all about, kids. This world won't live without them. So do your best for our beautiful community. I was raised here; and, if i die, I'll die here."

Mayor Ben Lucarelli called upon everyone to take a moment to thank Taylor and other vets in the community when you run into them wherever you are. Thank you, all.

Take a look at the photos in the above gallery for a glimpse into the event and some of Fair Haven's vets. Stay tuned for our video clip of Mr. Taylor.
