ReplySuperstorm Sandy is over.
We are now faced with Superstorm FEMA/Christie. This new storm has the potential to devastate the shore far worse.
There is no science, there is no evidence, there is no history to back up these maps when it comes to the mainland.
Superstorm FEMA/Christie is a bureaucratic storm. Our governor is being stubborn and illogical. The good thing is that he has no support, Our senators, congressmen, aand local officials are on our side. Keep up the fight.
When you e-mail the governor refer to the problem as Superstorm FEMA/Christie. Leave no doubt in his mind that HE IS RESPONSIBLE AND WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE when we win in the long run.

Where do you live? In the mountains perhaps? Governor Christie has single handly STOPPED reconstruction in my Point Pleasant neighborhood. He will destroy the town as we know it if he doesn't change his position and the maps go through as is. Further, how can a neighborhood WEST of the BEAVER DAM ROAD Bridge possibly be struck by a wave? Answer that if you can.

ReplyThere is a difference between being hardheaded and a dope. Supporting the obviously flawed FEMA Advisory Maps after our senators, congressmen, state senators, state legislators, county officials, local officials, qualified engineers from all over, and even FEMA officials say they are flawed makes the Governor the latter. There is enough momentum to fight the maps without him. As the shore suffers on in limboland the governor has no one to blame but himself. Superstorm FEMA/Christie is now the problem, not Superstorm Sandy.

ReplyBeing patien't doesn't get the advisory maps corrected. We can't start to rebuild even if the checks start to come in because we don't know what we are supposed to do. What we need to get rebuilding done in earnest on the mainland is you to change your stance and join every other politician in the state in rejecting the rediculous Advisory Maps. Being patient is what we have been with you personally Governor Christie. An upright guy should be able to admit he was wrong about the maps.

"We have to live with it" in regards to Governor Christie's ill advised acceptance of the V-Zones? No Freeholder Kelly, we do not. Get on board with getting the mapping under control or move over for someone else. Jenkensons can be rebuilt better than the Borgata but if there are no houses or bungalows repaired people won't have a place to stay. Flooded restaurants and other attractions will remain closed, property value is crashing, it makes no sense to even begin repairs in a V-Zone. The governor is getting thousands of e-mails and letters on his V-Zone mistake. State Senators and all our mayors are telling him it must change. Get with the program or move over.
