ReplyMy favorite was a real pinball machine my folks got for me and my siblings. We spent our winter recess nights playing with the lights turned down low like an arcade, with Cheap Trick, Devo, Supertramp and Bruce Springsteen on the tapedeck and I learned much about the ways of teenagers from my older brother. He monopolized the pinball machine, but I thought he was so super cool.

ReplyIt may be a curiosity, but we shouldn't let suspected subterfuge fog our judgment from deciding right and wrong for our town and the people who live in it. The issue at this point shouldn't be WHO IS STEPHEN MITCHELL and who is funding this objection...it should be...is this hotel on this small plot of land...at this busy intersection...a top this river of ours right or wrong? Surely those issues should be addressed whether Mr. Mitchell is involved or not. As a Red Banker, I appreciate the debate and would expect no less. This land use seems wrong to me. Let the debate continue...let the facts speak for themselves and turn the smoke machine off so we can deliberate over them wisely.

ReplyWay to go Dorothea, Zeet and Jon...and congratulations on a job well started...that will surely go a long way here in Red Bank and beyond. This place is a treasure for the town, for the Westside. The team behind this notion has worked incredibly hard and I am one Red Banker, one Jerseyan who is pleased and proud to see their months, years of toil have paid off...for everyone.

ReplyThis is a huge issue for Red Bankers or should be or will be if the process is greased in any way. A hotel where a gas station used to be? At a busy, and already congested intersection? A hotel where a river view once was or should be? Besides the nightmare of traffic and unsafe travel that this bull in the china closet would cause, what are the environmental ramifications to the water and waterfront? I'm all for stimulating the local economy...high rents have turned much of the downtown and westside into a ghost town...but a big hotel in that spot isn't stimulation...it sounds like bondage and domination. Are we really into that sort of thing?

ReplyHey...thanks everyone...it meant a lot to us going out there and coming back. We didn't take home an Emmy, but we still won. We're heading into a series of edits on our next three films and we're energized to know you're following us. Also, we have much good news to share and will do so soon.
