Rumson Mayor Ekdahl: Power Likely Back Thursday or Friday
Low-lying areas with heavy damage may take longer to be restored
The following message from Rumson Mayor John Ekdahl, as posted on the borough's website, http://www.rumsonnj.gov/: "It has been 7 days since Hurricane Sandy blasted through Rumson, causing catastrophic damage to many area homes and properties. The entire town remains without power and the Rumson Police, DPW, Fire Departments, OEM and EMS have been working overtime to maintain order, provide direction and assistance to residents and make roads safe for passage. "JCP&L has advised that power will likely be restored to most of Rumson by Thursday or Friday. Nothing is worse than a mayor who prefers to spend his time sending out emails saying that they did not have power and therefore could not hold a public Rumson Resident meeting. By the Way, MR.
