The Feb. 10 theft in Little Silver was captured on the train station's surveillance camera.
The teen who was injured early Sunday morning at the Red Bank Train Station has been charged with stealing a laptop one stop earlier in Little Silver, according to police. Oluwatomiwa Adewusi, 19, Avenel, was charged with burglary and theft after he was observed on surveillance video stealing the laptop along with a drink and chips from Rook Coffee Roasters inside the Little Silver Train Station. The footage showed that the suspect entered followed a delivery person into the building and then boarded the northbound NJ Transit train to Red Bank following the theft. After months of anticipation, area commuters and coffee lovers can grab a premium cup of Joe right at the train station. Rook Coffee Roaster, launched in 2010 by Oceanport residents Holly Migliaccio and Shawn Kingsley, opened the doors to its newest outpost at the Little Silver Train Station on Monday. “We leaked the word on our Facebook page late on Friday, that we would open our doors in the morning. That small leak helped for a fantastic first day,” said Migliaccio in a release. The Little Silver Borough Council accepted the beanery's $10,800 bid to run the train station's concession area, which had been vacant since 2010, in April. Good news coffe lovers: the Little Silver Borough Council accepted a bid from Rook Coffee Roasters on Monday night to run the train station's concession stand. But Holly Migliaccio, co-owner of the popular local beanery, stressed to Patch on Thursday that the lease hasn't been signed and details still need to be negotiated for the three-year deal that they won with their $10,800 bid. What she did share was that the train station outpost will be set up much the same way as the Rook's Long Branch and Oakhurst shops, with coffee sold to-go and no seating.
