As the result of a Saturday baseball game melee, a Rumson parent has been arrested and charged with simple assault, according to APP.com. The parent, Patrick Maisto, 49, of Rumson, allegedly went onto the field and assaulted a Buc player after a sixth-inning collision during a tie game started a brawl, the report said. A Red Bank Regional player running from third base collided with the Rumson-Fair Haven catcher, clearing both benches, ending in the melee and possibly getting all brawling players suspended from upcoming games, it added. The game was immediately terminated and both teams could be found ineligible to compete in the upcoming NJSIAA Tournament.
