Monmouth U Dean Brian T. Garvey Dies
Garvey oversaw the Monmouth University Honors School.
Brian T. Garvey, PhD, a former dean of the Honors School at Monmouth University, passed away on Sept. 17. Garvey earned his master's and PhD degrees at Bradford University, England, after receiving a bachelor's degree at Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, CT. He began his career at the Monmouth University in 1986, and early in his tenure there assisted in initiating the Interdisciplinary Studies Department, which set the course for students to relate aspects of different subject matter into an interconnected course of study.
