Man Found Dead on Hartshorne Woods Park Trail

The 67-year old man apparently died from a medical event, said police.

A man apparently died during a hike at Hartshorne Woods Park on Wednesday afternoon, Middletown Police Detective Lt. Stephen Dollinger said. William Bennett, 67, of Viola Avenue in the Leonardo section of Middlletown, was found by a bicyclist on the Grand Tour Trail of the park, just over the Rumson border in the Locust section of Middletown, at about 3:30 p.m. The investigation by police determined that Bennett was hiking along the trail when he suffered some sort of a medical episode which resulted in his death. Detective Daniel Sullivan, of the Middletown Police Department, and Detective Andrea Tozzi, of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, conducted the investigation. Three Area Residents Facing Heroin Charges

Two 19-year olds and one 20-year old are accused of drug offenses.

Three area residents are facing heroin possession and distribution charges, along with other related offenses. Brianna Geerlof, 19, of the Belford section of Middletown; Nicholas J. Muscenti, 20, of Hamilton Avenue in the Leonardo section of Middletown; and Joshua Floyd, 19, of Belford, were arrested by Middletown police on Jan. 15.   Police said they found 43 bags of heroin at Geerlof's Belford home on the day of the arrest. She is accused of six charges, which include conspiring with the other two men to distribute the illegal drug. Police say Geerlof and Floyd paid Muscenti to buy narcotics using Geerlof's car. Geerlof was arrested for possession of heroin, possession of drugs obtained without a prescription, possession of imitation …

Woman Stabbed Multiple Times in Middletown Bed Bath & Beyond

Woman transported by medevac to Jersey Shore U. Medical Center. Investigation proceeding "very actively," says police chief.

Update, 11 p.m.: Middletown Man Charged with Attempted Murder in Bed Bath & Beyond Stabbing --- A woman suffered significant blood loss after she was allegedly stabbed more than a dozen times in the back and other parts of her body by a man at Bed Bath & Beyond around 4 p.m. today. The woman's identity was not released, but she was said to be in her 30s and shopping inside the store with her small child when she was attacked. Middletown Township First Aid and MONOC medics transported the woman to Thorne Middle School, where she was taken by Northstar medevac to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, according to Assistant Middletown First Aid spokesperson Beth Edwards. It was reported that the patient was conscious and alert. Sea Bright Woman Charged: Marijuana Possession

The following information was obtained directly from Middletown Township Police Department records. It does not indicate a conviction.

Middletown police reported the recent arrest of a Sea Bright woman in connection with marijuana possession charges. Corinne Mills, 34, of Ocean Avenue, Sea Bright, was arrested in Middletown on Oct. 15 by patrolmen Greg Buhowski and Raymond Sofield, of Middletown Police Department's Quality of Life Unit, and charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Possession of under 50 grams of marijuana is a disorderly persons offense.

Rumson Juvenile Arrested on Charges of Marijuana Possession

The following information was obtained directly from Middletown Township Police Department records. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Rumson juvenile was arrested in Middletown recently and charged with alleged marijuana and paraphernalia possession as well as narcotics influence. On Oct. 5, Middletown Police Cpl. Patricia Colangelo arrested a 17-year-old male and charged him with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of narcotics. The arrest took place after a motor vehicle stop and investigation. The juvenile was released pending a court date. * Possession of under 50 grams of marijuana is a disorderly persons offense.
