Man Facing Assault Charges After Park Fight
Next door in Red Bank: Police allege that man hit officer with closed fist at park that area people frequent.
There was a fight next door in Riverside Gardens Park last week; and, a Florida man is facing several charges, including aggravated assault on a police officer, stemming from it, police said. Red Bank police arrested Andrew C. Collins, 28, of Orange Park, Fla., on Dec. 16 following a reported fight at the West Front Street park after Collins “purposely and knowingly caused a public inconvenience and alarm” by engaging in a public fight at the park at 2:06 a.m., police reported in the complaint warrant. When police tried to break up the fight, they allege that Collins, who was allegedly in possession of a silver husky box cutter “that served no legitimate purpose,” resisted arrest by striking the arresting officer with a closed fist, …

I feel bad for kicking the officer in the face, I sincerely do but I'm not sure why he needed to make things sound so bad in the report by saying I punched him, all you would have to do is listen to the in car recorder and you would hear him say I kicked him, not punched!
