Rumson Man Indicted on Child Pornography Charges

The following information was obtained directly from Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office records. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Rumson man has been indicted on child pornography possession and related charges stemming from incidents spanning a two-year period, from 2009 to 2011. Matthew Marass, 26, of 18 Forrest Ave., allegedly knowingly possessed, between July 16, 2009 and April 15 2011, in Rumson, "photograph(s), film, videotape, computer program or file, video game or any other reproduction or reconstruction which depicts a child engaging in a prohibited sexual act or in the simulation of such an act," according to the indictment from the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office. Marass also allegedly "knowingly received" the pornography for the purpose of selling, "procuring, manufacturing, giving, providing, lending, trading, mailing, delivering, transferring, …

Crime Nearby: Area Woman Charged With Sexually Assaulting Child

Woman also charged with endangering welfare of child

An area woman has been charged with sexually assaulting a child. Rachel Morrison, 26, of Warburton Place, Long Branch, allegedly sexually assaulted the Oceanport minor, whose name, age and relationship to Morrison are not being released, on April 29. Morrison was arrested on April 30 and is facing two charges of sexual assault for commiting "an act of sexual penetration" and "touching" the victim, according to court documents. Morrison is also charged with endangering the welfare of a child. She was lodged in Monmouth County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail. Morrison's initial court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday, May 8.

School Psychologist Suspended After Marijuana Arrest

Michele Thompson was charged with distribution of marijuana and endangering the welfare of a child.

In the school district next door to Fair Haven's, Little Silver's school psychologist was suspended by the district following an arrest last month for alleged distribution of marijuana and child endangerment. Michele J. Thompson, 45, Ocean Park Avenue, Bradley Beach was charged Jan. 21 with distribution of marijuana and several counts of child endangerment following an investigation by Bradley Beach Police, according to APP.com. Harold A. Sturm, 50, also of Ocean Park Avenue in Bradley Beach, was also charged. According to Little Silver Board of Education President Christian Smith, the board "became aware of a situation in which an employee was charged with alleged criminal activity."
