Borough Council meeting is tonight; agenda attached
Tonight is Borough Council meeting night at 7 p.m. in Fair Haven, and among the items on the agenda is a workshop session of the municipal budget. State aid, Gov. Chris Christie has announced, will remain level for all Monmouth County municipalities, meaning that all will get the same amount for fiscal year 2014 as they did for 2013. The governor called it "preserved funding." “This preserved funding means no town in Monmouth County will see a decrease in formula municipal aid for the upcoming year," Christie said in a news release. Monday's regular meeting cancelled due to lack of quorum
Call it the meeting that wasn't ... but will be on Thursday at 6 p.m., as all were re-noticed by Fair Haven Borough Clerk/Assistant Administrator Allyson Cinquegrana, providing the required 48-hour notice according to the Sunshine Law. When people gathered last night for the Fair Haven Borough Council meeting, they were told that there would be no meeting, because there was no quorum. Between council members' absences and what Mayor Ben Lucarelli said was a family emergency that called away the one council member needed to comprise a quorum, the meeting had to be cancelled. Michel Berger is much more then a resident and business owner in the Borough of Fair Haven. He is passionate about Fair Haven and all the borough has to offer. He can be seen leading the Fair Haven Business Association (FHBA) meetings, running the Tour de Fair Haven, handing out balloons at the Town-Wide Yard Sale, serving hot chocolate at the Business District Open House during the annual tree lighting, and attending council meetings to speak on behalf of neighbors and businesses. Mayor Halfacre swore Dwayne L. Reevey, Jr. into office at the council meeting on October 11, 2011.
Family, friends and the Fair Haven Police Department packed Borough Hall on Tuesday night during the regular council meeting to see the swearing in of Dwayne L. Reevey, Jr. as a new patrolman in the borough. “We are very lucky to have a home-grown individual,” said Police Chief Daryl Breckenridge. Reevey grew up in Fair Haven and attended Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School where he was honored as a great student and athlete. He went on to Rowan University where he was the captain of the soccer and basketball teams. “This just shows leadership building at an early age and he continues to do a good job now,” said Breckenridge. Reevey graduated from Rowan with a degree in Criminal Justice and is currently working at the Monmouth County …

Mayor Halfacre read a proclamation to the scout who completed a rain barrel project at Borough Hall last winter.
Karr Thomas Mullen reached the highest level in Boy Scouts of America and was recognized as an Eagle Scout at the Fair Haven Council meeting on September 26, 2011. “Less than 2 percent of scouts actually achieve this award,” said Mayor Halfacre during his reading of the proclamation to Mullen. “I am amazed at how many Eagle Scouts Fair Haven turns out. It is a really great honor.” Mullen completed a rain barrel project for the borough, which helped contribute to this honor. Residents of Fair Haven watched last fall and winter as Mullen, of Troop 67 (Red Bank Charter) of the Boy Scouts of America, worked on a project to educate the community about recycling water for use in their gardens and yards.
