Between Rumson and Fair Haven there are several places to stop for coffee. Where do you go and where will you go in the future?

When the windows at Fair Haven's Java Stop became blanketed with makeshift brown packaging paper shades and the coffee was no longer on in the morning, townies and lovers of a good cup of Joe started foaming at the mouth like a latte machine. While the area between the two small peninsula boroughs of Rumson and Fair Haven is saturated with standard morning coffee klatch stops, each has his or her own habitual stop. Not only did the roughly decade-old staple Java Stop close its doors and cut off a morning brew option, but Gourmet Picnic, a couple blocks away on River Road, shut down, too. Booskerdoo to Take JavaStop's Spot

The popular Monmouth Beach coffee roaster expects to open for business in March.

Fear not, coffee loving Fair Havenites. Your beloved Java Stop may be gone, but the aroma of freshly roasted beans is headed your way.  Booskerdoo Coffee Co., the cofffee shop and roaster located in Monmouth Beach, will open its second location this spring in the former Java Stop spot on River Road. "It's a beautiful spot," said Booskerdoo owner James Caverly. "Fair Haven is such a great town, and I'm excited to be a part of it." Caverly is also looking forward to the high traffic location. Tucked away off Beach Road, he calls his Monmouth Beach store "a little gem off the beaten path." The new cafe, which will be retail only, should be a "wallop," Caverly said. Commuters, Coffee Lovers: Rook is Open

Customers will be able to text in orders and pay for their premium java with smart phones

After months of anticipation, area commuters and coffee lovers can grab a premium cup of Joe right at the train station. Rook Coffee Roaster, launched in 2010 by Oceanport residents Holly Migliaccio and Shawn Kingsley, opened the doors to its newest outpost at the Little Silver Train Station on Monday. “We leaked the word on our Facebook page late on Friday, that we would open our doors in the morning. That small leak helped for a fantastic first day,” said Migliaccio in a release. The Little Silver Borough Council accepted the beanery's $10,800 bid to run the train station's concession area, which had been vacant since 2010, in April.
