Missing a Cast Member in R-FH's Aida?

Winston, the dancing bulldog missed his cue

We, at Patch realize that Aida is not a musical that requires any amount of tap dancing. That would be something more like Anything Goes. But, we stumbled upon this YouTube video and could not help but think that either the director passed over a pretty befitting cast member or he just missed his cue somehow. So, we give all you R-FHers your (let's call him) honorary cast member, Winston the tap dancing bulldog. We tend to think that the bulldog thing, being all about R-FH, makes this guy a good candidate for the next show. Hey, maybe he's there for his close-up, Ms. Sweeney. Hey, Winston, don't miss your cue next time! Enter stage left ... or whatever side is storing food props. Something like that. Hey, he's a bulldog! Go theater Dawgs!

Happy to have found him, Matt. The bulldog happens to be the mascot for Rumson Fair Haven Regional HS here in the US. And, it just so happens that the annual high school musical was this weekend, so it was all perfect timing. He's adorable. Send us another! ;)   more ›

Hurricane Sandy

R-FH Dawgs 'Lend a Paw' in Sandy Benefit Concert

Concert to feature Tim McLoone & The Shirleys and R-FH singers and musicians

When Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School re-opened on Nov.12, in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, many students and faculty members still did not have power in their homes.  As the students filled the hallways, they began to realize that some of their classmates and teachers were not only without electric service, but they were displaced from their homes — some indefinitely.  From that realization, the idea for a fundraising effort was born, and the result will be a benefit concert scheduled for Tuesday, Dec.11 at 7 p.m. in the R-FH auditorium. With a nod to the Bulldog mascot, “Lend a Paw … Dawgs Helping Dawgs” is a fundraising effort sponsored by the Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) which will assist R-FH students and staff …

Junior R-FH Wrestlers' Victorious Start

The young Bulldog team was revived in 2006 after a long respite

The Rumson-Fair Haven Junior Bulldog Wrestling Team's season is off to a great start. On Saturday, Dec. 8, the team opened its Jersey Shore Junior Wrestling League (JSJWL) season with a hard-fought 52-42 win over the Red Bank Junior Bucs at Red Bank Regional High School. The Junior Bucs dominated in the lower weights, while the Junior Bulldogs won the middle weights and dominated in the upper weights to win the match.  "All of our boys wrestled extremely well today," said Tom Skove, head coach of the Junior Bulldogs. "Our middle-weights and our heavy-weights stayed focused and did what they had to do to grind out a win today. Our eighth graders stepped up and showed the younger boys what competition in this league is all about. I am very …

Bulldogs Win 'Battle of Ridge Road' 9-3

Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School's Bulldogs are on a winning streak, 4-0. Share your pictures from the game on Patch!

The Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School Bulldogs won the Battle of Ridge Road last night against the Red Bank Regional Buccaneers, 9-3, making the team's record a perfect 4-0 for the season so far. The Buccaneers fell short in the Battle to a steady team of Bulldogs.    The Bulldogs, now 4-0, were heavy favorites. But RBR Coach Nick Giglio felt that an inconsistent offense hurt his team's chances. The Bucs seemed perpetually on the verge of breaking the game wide open, only to lose momentum. The pattern began early, and never let up.     In the first quarter, the Bucs defense beat back the Bulldogs' first drive. But a deep Bulldog punt forced the Bucs to begin their possession at their own eight-yard line, with senior Ross Gisondi at …

Bulldog Round-Up

Time to Support R-FH TD Club

Leaders are looking for fundraiser event and raffle support starting now

A message for the Rumson-Fair Haven football family: The preparation begins, Bulldogs! It is time for the annual R-FH Touchdown (R-FH TD) Club raffle. As many of you are aware, the R-FH TD Club is a non-profit fundraising group that helps cover costs of football gear, expenses, and general needs outside the budgets of the high school and youth programs. This year, Coach Fallon has a few things on the "need" list, including a complete game filming system that allows the coaches to review the games from three separate cameras set up around the field. As the boys know, you can't hide from the film! There is a long list of other items with which the high school, youth and flag programs look to the R-FH TD Club for support. The annual raffle is…

Week in News: No More Swimming, Bridge Plans, Hockey Championship

Some of the top stories from throughout the Two River area from Feb. 18 to Feb. 24.

Middletown Swim Club Closed for 2012 Season Via Middletown Patch Though officials have promised to do everything they can to delay the sale of the Middletown Swim and Tennis Club, township committee went ahead and introduced an ordinance early this week authorizing the sale of the township-owned club “just in case.” With the club operating at a significant financial loss each year, officials have looked for ways to keep it open but without much success. Public pressure has not proven enough to push Middletown to open up the coffers, either. Though residents have devised business and recruitment plans to keep the club open, it has not been enough to convince the committee, which has promised that the club will not open this year at least. …

RFH Football Dawgs Best the Blue Bishops and Claim #1 Seed

The Rumson-Fair Haven Bulldogs beat the Asbury Park Blue Bishops, toss a coin, and take one step closer to their season-long goal of reaching another State Championship game.

On a sunny crisp Saturday, fans dressed in purple, black, and white and headed south on Ocean Avenue to Asbury Park High School to root their Dawgs on to victory against the Blue Bishops.  Looking around the stands, there were Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (RFH) fans of all ages and from near and far hoping to see a great battle.  The game started out a little slow with no points on the board for most of the first quarter, but with four minutes left, Danny Roberto connected to Jake Clapp for the lead, 7-0. That got the ball rolling. The Bulldogs were all business on the field, calmly executing plays on both sides of the ball, while the fans went wild in the stands.    Midway through the second quarter, RFH successfully tried a …

The Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (RFH) Boys Soccer lost by one goal against the Holmdel Hornets last night. Holmdel avenged its only loss of the season by beating RFH 1-0 in double overtime on October 11 for the Shore Conference Class A Central Title.  It was an exciting match filled with both teams having plenty of chances to win. Rumson played their physical style with their amazing throw in’s putting perpetual pressure on the Holmdel Defense.  However, in the end it was Holmdel's Junior sensation Zach Bond ending the match 1 minute into the 2nd overtime.
