Man Charged with County Courthouse Bomb Threat

Bomb threat took place on Oct. 25 and caused courthouse to be evacuated.

The Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office has arrested and charged a man in connection with the Oct. 25 bomb threat against the Monmouth County Courthouse. Ellis W. Goodson, 35, allegedly made a 9-1-1 call on Thursday, Oct. 25 and warned that a bombing would take place at the courthouse that day. In a previous story, Patch had reported that a bomb threat against the courthouse came from a 9-1-1 call at about 12 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25. At that time, the courthouse was evacuated and area K-9 explosives-detecting dogs were brought in to sweep the building.  After the building sweep, no explosives were found, but due to the amount of time required for the investigation, the courthouse was closed for the rest of the day. Bomb Threat on E. River Road in Rumson

Nearby roads are being closed and homes are being evacuated.

According to the Breaking News Network, there is a reported bomb threat at 97 E. River Road in Rumson.  Fire departments have been called in and police are closing all local roads. Nearby homes are being evacuated. The building is a law office owned by Thomas V. Giaimo. Patch is heading down to the scene to get more information.
