Businesses are coming back to Sea Bright soon
It was a scene that was hard to forget. Shortly after Hurricane Sandy struck and devastated Sea Bright, Brian George stood in front of his whiped-out Northshore store with a beaten down, but hopeful look and feeling as he chatted with passersby. A sign on his gutted, barely standing business said "We believe in Sea Bright ... We'll be back." And, they will be back, and soon. George has announced that his business will be open in Sea Bright on March 1, in a different place. "Since Dec. 1 we (had) relocated the business temporarily back in Rumson, where we started the business back in 1982," George said. Feeling a little forlorn about Valentine's Day plans flattened? There are likely some sweet leftovers and places in the Rumson-Fair Haven area to treat yourself to a feast alone or with a good friend the day after. Pedaling backwards and starting with the sweets first to go with your morning cup of coffee — that's right, you deserve it — you can take a ride over to Cups & Cakes in Rumson or Tavolo Pronto in Fair Haven. The popular Atlantic Highlands restaurant has a new Sea Bright home, logo and menu
It’s time for a taste of Tuscany by the sea. Ama Ristorante at Driftwood, Sea Bright, is opening its Ocean Avenue doors at 5 p.m. this evening, starting a tradition of serving fine Italian cuisine in a new oceanfront setting at the cabana club. Ama, which means love in Latin, is a also a small town in Tuscany — apt reflections of the restaurant’s regional motif and the chef Pat Trama’s passion for the Tuscan food and wines. For the new location, Trama — who has collaborated on the venture with the Driftwood owners and longtime local builders, the Stavola family — has carefully chosen a wine list to perfectly complement the menu.
