It is clear that Rumson residents want a change in the Board of Education. For the second time,…Read More several newcomers have thrown their hats into the ring and are pushing for a real election. Take note, Fair Haven's BOE and RFH BOE have an unopposed race. Clearly the message is being sent to the current members of the Rumson BOE that there needs to be change.

Mr Kern was a great teacher and--though we didn't use the word then--a wonderful mentor. Even though…Read More I went on to an entirely different field, it was his excellent teaching and gender-neutral support that put me in Honors Calculus at Stanford. I remember trick-or-treating in our part of Rumson and then begging someone's parents for a ride to FH just to trick-or-treat at his house because Mr Kern made math fun and serious at the same time.
His legacy lives on! Margaretmary Daley-RFHRHS '79

Mr Kern's Advanced Math Class in 68-69 was challenging for me, as was his math college board…Read More preparation summer course in the summer of 68. But he taught me well and if not for him, I would have never got into the Air Force Academy or made it through the Calculus and Differential Equations classes my freshman year. I owe him a big debt of gratitude for my career. Paul Manley-RFH '69

Mr. Kern busted my chops daily - sometimes as Mrs. K looked over the partition and piled on. He…Read More worked hard us as seniors to the very end. Hard work which I came to appreciate and still remember him to my students, especially seniors, regarding the need to not bail on your last year of HS in April. You'll be missed!

The RFH boy's lacrosse team actually did win the South Jersey Group 1 State Sectional title with a…Read More 10-6 win over Bernards 5-25-13 at Rumson. It was the Bulldogs (18-3) first ever sectional title. They lost to Mountain Lakes 8-6 in a hard fought State Group 1 final. Congratulations to the team on a tremendous season !

He's got all the tricks up his sleeve. That he should be still out driving is a travesty. Just…Read More because he was supposedly the "beloved mayor of Red Bank"? It's an insult to everyone. I just hope my children or anyone else in my family or yours don't run into him late one night on the road. Yes. I was sure of the other offense on the parkway some years ago. And he refuses his own police force at his own door?? Poor civic behavior for a mayor and an ex-mayor.

This is very sexist and stinks of misandry. What about the poor boys!

Mr. Karas chose to leave to work in a school district closer to his home. There is no bigger story…Read More here. Commuting to Rumson has always been an issue for administration & teachers --it's a hike off the parkway and people have found it to be too much in a world where family time is at a premium with longer work hours, etc.
