New Year Celebrations, Events, Food, Reorganizations in the Week Ahead

What's going on this week in the Rumson-Fair Haven area.

Happy Monday, friends and fans!

Well, now we're heading directly into the New Year and we've been taking looks back at different news and feature aspects of the year. If you haven't already, you really need to take a look at our Bloopers & Classic Quotes of 2013. Great way to start the week!

With New Year's Day right in the middle of the week, there are a few reorganizations, New Year's Eve and Day events, but not much in the way of meetings.

Around the towns …

• Rumson's reorganization meeting is Wednesday at noon at Bingham Hall.

• We'll let you know when Fair Haven's reorganization is being held. It's usually on New Year's Day.

• If you'd like to start the New Year with a nature walk or tour, there's one of each on Sandy Hook on New Year's Day.

Visit the Sandy Hook Lighthouse & Keeper's Quarters

Wednesday, Jan. 1, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

New Year's Day Beach Walk

Jan 01, 2014, 11 a.m. to  3 p.m.

Meet at Building 18, Fort Hancock. Which came first, the New Year’s Day hangover or the American Littoral Society walk? Which is the better way to start a new year?

Take a winter stroll on the beach and return to House 18 for hot cider/chocolate and hot dogs. Bring any holiday finger deserts that you wish to share.

• The Fromagerie is hosting a New Year's Day brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring a champagne cart, roasted prime rib, shrimp cocktail, oysters, fried rice and mac n' cheese station and much more.

• Salt Creek Grille is hosting a New Year's Eve gala … "Ring in the New Year with friends and family at Salt Creek Grille! Reservations recommended 732.933.9272," according to its Facebook page. The price is $125 and includes open bar, party favors DJ and photo booth from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

• Ama Ristorante in Sea Bright is also hosting its own gourmet New Year's Eve gala. Click here for the menu and more info.

If we've forgotten anything, let us know. In the meantime, I'll see you around the towns.
