Fair Prep, Back-to-School Tidbits & More

It's what's going on this week in the Rumson-Fair Haven area.

Happy Monday, R-FH area friends and fans! Well, it looks like it's going to be a good weather week. That's something, right? Right. Just nod in agreement — or not.

Today the weather troll, aka National Weather Service, says it's supposed to be partly sunny with a high of 82 degrees. No mention of rain. And the rest of the week looks to be about the same only a bit more sunny.

So, here's the tide table from Sea Bright for today going into tomorrow's sunrise, so you waterborne people, or just plain beachgoers, can plan accordingly:

2013-08-19  6:10 AM EDT   Sunrise
2013-08-19  8:05 AM EDT   3.55 feet  High Tide
2013-08-19  2:12 PM EDT  -0.19 feet  Low Tide
2013-08-19  7:47 PM EDT   Sunset
2013-08-19  8:30 PM EDT   4.21 feet  High Tide
2013-08-20  2:51 AM EDT  -0.43 feet  Low Tide
2013-08-20  6:11 AM EDT   Sunrise

This week there are no noteworthy meetings, but there is some news that warrants follow-ups. We'll also be doing some more back-to-school stories. And, of course, it's the countdown to the Fair Haven Firemen's Fair, so there will be more looks back in time, behind the scenes and photo galleries of the scene as it unfolds.

If you own a business and still need Hurricane Sandy recovery assistance, you need to get over to the Stronger NJ Grant Workshop in Sea Bright today at the First United Methodist Church across the street from the municipal parking lot from 9 a.m .to 5 p.m.

RFH Crew will have host an open house on Tuesday. Check the R-FH Patch calendar at rumson.patch.com. And, if you're looking for other sports sign-up opportunities, check the calendar as well.

Oh, right, and yes, really, stand by for that special video on favorite teachers from the RFH Class of '78. We're giving it a special back-to-school slant to make up for the setbacks. It really should be a fun one to watch. We've also got the good word on yet another RFH grad. Stay tuned. Caption this photo?

In the meantime, see you around the towns …
