Local Children Create Jingle to Help SPCA

With the help of Small Factory Productions, 5 local children contributed to a 30-second jingle that encourages families to adopt animals instead of buying them from pet stores and puppy mills.

Five local children created a jingle to help the encourage families to adopt a dog or cat this holiday season instead of purchasing one from a pet store or puppy mill.

Marc Meloni from Oceanport, Lily and Aine McDonough from Rumson, Hanna Hale from Hazlet, Madelyn Delvecchio from Fair Haven created and recorded the jingle over the course of several workshops. They also had some help from Mrs. Ilene Brudner’s Third Grade Class from Robertsville Elementary School in Morganville

These children received the opportunity to participate in this project by winning a this fall.

Children in first through third grade from across Monmouth County submitted songs about their adopted dogs and cats during the Monmouth County SPCA “Tunes for Tails” songwriting contest. The contest was sponsored by Purr'n Pooch Pet Resorts in Tinton Falls and produced by . 

After the winners were chosen, they participated in several workshops with teacher Matt Cook at Small Factory Productions, a school in Fair Haven that offers a variety of creative classes including writing, art, music and acting. Their hard work and creativity went into the production of a 30-second jingle about adopting pets from the SPCA.

The song debuted on 94.3 The POINT's Lou and Liz Show on November 17.

Now that their jingle is a hit, they are asking for some help from the local communities. Businesses from across the region are invited to lend the songwriters a paw by playing the “Tunes for Tail” jingle during shopping hours through December 31.
