Clean Ocean Action Fall Fundraiser Set

The 14th Annual Seaside Sunset Event is slated for Oct. 5

Environmentalists, music, food and drink will set the stage for the 14th Annual Seaside Sunset event to benefit for Clean Ocean Action (COA).

This year's fall event, set for Friday, Oct. 5, will take place at a new location — McLoone’s Pier House in Long Branch, from 6 to 10 p.m.

The founders and volunteers of Clean Ocean Action, a 28-year non-profit grassroots environmental organization, have been hailed as effective protectors the Atlantic coast from pollution, sea-borne trash, medical waste, and the risk of proposed liquid natural gas (LNG) terminals.

The Sunset event is predicted to attract hundreds of supporters of Clean Ocean Action, including ocean enthusiasts, corporate partners and elected officials.

The event is considered a great opportunity for local businesses to demonstrate their support of a clean and healthy ocean. The evening’s menu will include a raw bar, by Lusty Lobster Seafood Market & Catering, a unique spread of artisan cheeses by Sickles Market, and a buffet designed by McLoone’s Chef Joe Racioppi.

Coffee and dynamic desserts donated by Booskerdoo Coffee Roasters and other local dessert experts will be served. Music for dancing will be provided by local favorites and long-time COA supporters — The Thom White Band.

“Defending the ocean is serious work, but the Seaside Sunset is a fun way to support the ocean. Fellow friends of the ocean gather, enjoy fabulous food from the sea, and have a rocking good time,” Clean Ocean Action Executive Director Cindy Zipf said. “For additional entertainment, this year’s event will feature highlights from special events including the Tour for the Shore, Beach Sweeps, and a citizen survey conducted in Times Square, NY."

Seaside Sunset is sponsored by: Plymouth Rock Assurance, Shore Point Distributing Co., The McManus Family, Webb Mason, American Braiding, Main One Marina, Monmouth Memorial Park Cemetery Association, and New York-Sandy Hook Pilots Benevolent Association.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available.
