New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie acknowledged his office has been subpoenaed by the U.S. Attorney as part of an investigation into the George Washington Bridge lane closure scandal.

Christie said his office would cooperate fully with investigators after confirming the subpoena during a radio appearance on NJ101.5's Ask the Governor program Monday night.

"We had already communicated to them that we would cooperate voluntarily. They decided to send a subpoena and that's fine," Christie said.

Christie's radio appearance comes on the heels of accusations leveled by an attorney for former Port Authority of New York and New Jersey official David Wildstein. The attorney, Alan L. Zegas, said "evidence exists" that Christie knew about the lane closures while they were happening.

Christie's office dismissed the claims, saying he had no knowledge of the political motivation behind the closures. The governor reiterated that he had nothing to do with the action during the radio appearance.

"The most important issue is did I know anything about the plan to close these lanes, did I authorize it, did I know about it, did I approve it, did I have any knowledge of it beforehand. And the answer is still the same. It's unequivocally no," Christie said.

Hi Steve , I think you are blaming the wrong entity for unemployment. It's up to business to create jobs! The problem is that there are no BUSINESS LEADERS with the nohow to create new products and services! I'm sure Steve Jobs and Gates didn't think about the gov. when they started Apple and Microsoft. They wanted to do something novel! This stuff about gov regulation in BS the real problem is lack of BUSINESS LEADERSHIP for job creation.-----------------Have a good night

I give Reagan credit for helping to win the cold war, but that's about it. It's actually those "trickle-down" supply-side policies that got us into the mess we are still in today.
Thomas Breyfogle February 04, 2014 at 10:51 PM
I don't think Obama is deliberately trying to divide people. Republicans just hate the guy and want to put a stop to everything he tries to do.
Just Wondering February 04, 2014 at 11:22 PM
Come on now Havre de Grace Patch we have enough corruption in our local government to not to have to read about others.
JustSaying February 05, 2014 at 08:01 AM
GKL & Thomas - Keep drinking the Kool Aid...Obama has been an embarrassment to this great Nation and to the Office that he holds. He is an arrogant, self-centered, say-anything but accomplish nothing leader. Although I didn't vote him in 2008, I had Hope that things would be different. But they weren't. The reasons he won in 2012 were beyond Romney's control - he was only speaking the truth when he mentioned that 47% - people are far too dependent upon Government Programs. The morale in this country is at an all time low because of him - more people are on Food Stamps than ever before - do you take pride in these numbers. It is simply shameful.
GKL February 05, 2014 at 08:29 AM
Hi JustSaying I Don't drink Kool Aid ! But I know that useless Speaker of the House, Boehner, likes his wine and smokes. If any one is an embarrassment to this country it is the Useless Republican controlled House. Think their poll numbers are below zero!!
JustSaying February 05, 2014 at 09:18 AM
Spin it any way you want - the buck stops with the President and he has done nothing to move this country "Forward" and his promise to be the most "transparent" leader was broken even before he took the Oath. Clearly, you (like Obama) have never run a small business or you would understand the fundamentals of what goes into making one successful. The odds are simply against you when the government is strangling you with Health Care Costs and Taxes. The Government was not created to serve as a permanent crutch (or in the small business scenario, a hammer, nailing them with increasing overhead costs). Those who are accustomed to government handouts have created a life that will only perpetuate itself for the generations that follow unless we force them to give back and share in the responsibility of providing for their own well being.
GKL February 05, 2014 at 09:42 AM
Hi Just Saying I do run my own business and for many years! I don't mind paying my fair share of taxes to, as the Preamble to our Constitution states " Promote the General Welfare of the People". I go by the Constitution - it says promote the general Welfare of Us the people - doesn't say anything about helping business. And with respect to being saddled by health care costs they keep going up and up - rate increases worse under private insurers and less coverage!
GKL February 05, 2014 at 09:52 AM
Hi Just Saying -- Our do nothing president Saved the Auto Industry, Brought the Stock Market and 401K s back from the brink of diaster, Ended two wars, Caught Osama Bin Laden, Decimated Alquada. Made US the leading supplier of energy in the world. Passed the Affordable Care Act.. He did more than any president since the 60's God Bless OBAMA !
Thomas Breyfogle February 05, 2014 at 10:33 AM
Here's an idea. Is jealousy a factor? Are Republicans jealous that Obama won the election and he's running the show? Is racism a factor? Does it really bug some people that a BLACK GUY is president?
JustSaying February 05, 2014 at 10:57 AM
Nice Talking Points - REALLY? I would recommend you take a course on the Constitution. "Promote the General Welfare of the People" was NOT intended to benefit a specific class of people. I strongly encourage you to read the writings of Samuel Adams and Benjamin Franklin (who himself came from poverty). It's Ben Franklin who I think said it best with “I am for doing good to the poor, but...I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. I observed...that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer.” As for ObamaCare - history will speak for itself on this. I am all for getting people covered but "FAIR" does not mean "EQUAL" and may I remind you of one of Obama's many lies "If you like your healthcare plan, you can keep it. PERIOD". As for your ridiculous list of so called accomplishments - not sure where you obtained those fine speaking points - I certainly don't credit him with capturing OBL just like I don't credit Bush with capturing Hussein - give credit where credit is due and respect our military for who they are. As for al qaeda - they are HARDLY disseminated (again, just because Obama says it, doesn't make it true). How about you address our National Debt, Solantra or any one of the other failed loans/bailouts, Benghazi (or do you too believe "What difference does it make"), our People living in Poverty/Food Stamp Crisis, the rise of mass shootings (beit schools, movie theaters, churches, malls, etc). Let's address the mental health issues in this country that are driving these senseless acts. Obama is the most divisive, ineffective, worthless excuse for a President in the history of Presidents (although he runs neck and neck with Carter). Case Closed.
JustSaying February 05, 2014 at 11:13 AM
Thomas - Brilliant. Yes jealousy is why more than half of America believe Obama is doing a POOR job. Jealousy is driving this nation into poverty and a greater dependency on food stamps and other government funded programs again, brilliant thought process. Obama isn't running the show, he's sinking the ship. As for the race card, let's call a spade a spade. I don't care that Obama is black - there are plenty of black people I think who could run this country better than many whites. However, black people cared that Obama was black and that is why they voted for him - plain and simple. And of many of those are unfortunately dependent on government subsidized programs - thus the 47% comment by Romney. So I am not bitter that Obama is black but it is disappointing that because he is Black, he is our President.
GKL February 05, 2014 at 12:36 PM
Hi JustSaying --- Like I said, OBAMA is the Greatest President in 50 years! I keep asking, What have Republicans done to improve this country in the last 50 years?? NOTHING !! You have a disfunctional House of Representatives led by a wine gulping, wimp of a Speaker - Bohener . You have a looser of a senator from Texas - Cruz who brought this nation to a standstill and cost the taxpayer billions of dollars. Check your statistics on who makes up some of that 47% Retired people that worked hard all their life, dissabled military people, hard working people that are paid a substandard salary and are below poverty! Shame on you! If you are a business man your allowed more write offs for food a year then some of these people make! No where in the Constitution does it say businesses should get preferential treatment! It says promote the general welfare of the people. God Bless Obama!

Hi Just saying -- If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Jesus Christ

GKL (Generation of Kaleidoscopic Leftists) Remember the song (Kaleidoscope) by the recently-deceased Pete Seeger? He was one of the radical pioneers who began the process of bringing the nation to its present state of affairs, through his musical propaganda. Obama is a non entity - in my space (personal opinion). He recently appointed the lawyer for a Black Muslim cop killer, to head one of his programs on civil rights. He does many things like that, but you guys on the other side of the fence do not wish to acknowledge any of it. His staff, as well as governmental branch appointees, are a strange and dangerous lot of criminal-level individuals. All I can say is we would be shocked, but not surprised at the conversations and meetings that adorn the Oval Office on a regular basis. He is incompetent, sneaky, arrogant, destructive and I strongly believe that it was a fixed election with elaborate funding from George Soros. I do not like the current Republican establishment, either. Boehner is by no means, a quality Speaker of the House, but a small step above Pelosi, who remains in a coma.
JustSaying February 05, 2014 at 01:57 PM
GKL - Lol...your non-sensical rant speaks volumes. Good luck with that.
Thomas Breyfogle February 05, 2014 at 02:04 PM
The man was the LAWYER for a suspected cop-killer. He didn't appoint a cop-killer.
JustSaying February 05, 2014 at 02:09 PM
Thomas - Chill...he said Obama appointed the Lawyer, not the killer: "He recently appointed the lawyer for a Black Muslim cop killer, to head one of his programs on civil rights" But to George's point, he surrounds himself with the most extreme appointees...way to go!
Thomas Breyfogle February 05, 2014 at 02:34 PM
The lawyer's name is Debo Adegbile. For a short time he represented "cop-killer" Mumia Abu-Jamal. His counsel helped him avoid the death penalty. There is stuff on the web about it. Don't just read the radical right-wing stuff.

JustSaying -- 5 years ago the economy was in the toilet! The stock market reached record highs a couple weeks ago. Thanks to OBAMA! The auto industry was dead. It is now alive and doing well. Government sold its holdings and the american people made money. Thanks to OBAMA! Your 401k, 5 years ago tanked - it is now at levels where it should be! This year the US will surpass every other country in energy production. Thanks to OBAMA! No mater how you cut it it was OBAMA's decision to get Osama Bin Ladin! He passed the ACC which will bring many uninsured quality care! He ended two unpopular wars. He reduced federal spending and is holding the debt in check. Rants, I don't think so! They are the facts!!! Again What have Republicans Done in the last 50 years?

This has nothing to do with my locality. If Patch can't cover local news, then it's time to close up shop. Thank you.
Pauly February 05, 2014 at 05:45 PM
GKW- Put a cork in that piehole of yours, your repeating yourself badly, and pull your nose out of Oballahs arseole!
George Murphy February 05, 2014 at 07:47 PM
JTTPW - Patch is widespread. I know not where you reside, but it is quite possible that a Patch site is right under your nose. If you read/respond to any local issue, there is undoubtedly a Patch site to cover it. I prefer Patch to Facebook because the people who respond on these threads (whether one agrees with some of them or not) are far more classy and intelligent than the run-o-the-mill Facebook crowd. Also, these Patch sites are all interconnected - great resource!
JTTPW February 05, 2014 at 07:51 PM
Hello George Murphy. Thanks for your reply - this story appears in my local (Orange County CA) Patch. I don't go to Patch for stories from NJ, sorry, I can get that, elsewhere. I really enjoyed Patch to find out what is going on in my area, if they have lost that ability, then they have lost me, as a reader. Thank you.
George Murphy February 05, 2014 at 08:05 PM
JT - This Bridgefake thingamajig, unfortunately, affects all of us because it was fabricated to help the liberal establishment, (which includes both Republicans and Democrats), continue its stranglehold on America. My father lives in Santa Barbara and he's had enough of what they have done to a once-great state! When a link is opened, regardless of where in the country the story originates, it will be in that Patch site.
JTTPW February 05, 2014 at 08:12 PM
I get your point George Murphy, but I won't longer get Patch, it's simply not what I 'tuned in' for. I can get that news elsewhere. Thanks, again !
Sam Spade February 05, 2014 at 08:59 PM
GKL, your off target. I owned my own company for 27yrs, employed a good number of people. Never ripped anyone off, just did what I did. Then cam Dodd Frank and the great savior CFPB. Im done, the risk exceeds the return. Shut the place down and have almost let everyone go. I used to pay six figure taxes. Yeh, those taxes helped a lot of folks, as did the taxes everyone I employed. I didnt mind paying the taxes. Im done. When major companies pay millions for attorneys to figure out the rules, because the CFPB cannot give written explanations, only to find out the attorneys mis interperted the Rules, something is wrong.
George Murphy February 05, 2014 at 09:46 PM
jttpw - no problem! Good luck and be careful out there in Lost Angeles.
JTTPW February 05, 2014 at 09:53 PM
Thanks George Murphy - actually I am in Orange County, we think we are better than LA ;)
George Murphy February 05, 2014 at 09:56 PM
Sam, I guess you are in the beginning of the end of small entrepreneurs, who have lost everything to this counter cultural bunch of winners, who are very generous with everyone else's money. The feds now believe that it is okay to slap a penalty fee on my bank accounts if I transfer funds more than six times in a statement period. They are like cockroaches: Everywhere, every place and all the time.
