The New Jersey Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program is hosting 10 youth soccer tryout sessions for boys and girls over the next two weekends at The College of New Jersey, according to njyouthsoccer.com.

The program is the first of its kind to help identify potential national youth team players, and was introduced in 1977, according to the website. Evaluations begin at the local level and progress through the state, regional and national level.

The players identified are brought together for training and are prepared for competition between states and regions, as well as international competition.

It’s open to any youth player associated with U.S. Soccer.
