Support RFH Rowing, Win a Mercedes?

All proceeds for the raffle go to RFH Rowing

Rumson-Fair Haven (RFH) Rowing has launched a high ticket raffle in support of its new high school program.

The prize: a 2014 Mercedes Benz CLA four-door coupe, “nicely equipped” with Mercedes’ multi-media package.

The luxury car raffle, a first, is being organized by the RFH Rowing Parent Booster Club and tickets are limited. So, if you want a shot at driving away in the Mercedes, you need to get your tickets, because there are only 1,000 being sold at $100 each.  All proceeds from the raffle will benefit the rowing program.

In addition to the car, taxes and motor vehicle fees are also covered with the win. And color of the car, which will come from Ray Catena Mercedes, can be chosen among those available through the dealership, too.

"All the winner will need to do is decide on a color and pick up the car," said Parent Booster Club President Mark Wallhauser in a statement. "And everyone who purchases a ticket is supporting a wonderful new program at RFH."

The grand prize winner will be selected in a drawing on March 1 between 6 and 9 p.m. at Bingham Hall, Bingham Road, Rumson. The winner does not need to be present at the drawing in order to claim the prize.

The coupe has been on display and will continue to be shown at various sporting events held at RFH. Through first few weekends in February, it will be on display at RFH Rowing's Site next to Victory Park. It will also be on display at Nauvoo Grill Club on Fair Haven Road in Fair Haven on February 1.

RFH Rowing received Board of Education approval in November 2013 and held its official kick-off meeting in December. It is open to all RFH students and consists of boys' and girls' Junior Varsity and Varsity Teams. More than 75 students have already signed up for the program, which will begin competing during the spring 2014 season.

A Gala Dinner Dance for RFH Rowing is also in the works and is set for February 1 from 6:30 to 11 p.m. at Nauvoo Grill Club. The charge for this fund-raising event is $65 per person and $100 per couple.
