Rumson-Fair Haven Run Announces a New Date, Time and Distance

Races will be shorter this year so you better kick it up a notch.

This year's Rumson-Fair Haven Run will take a new shorter course this year at a much later time, so that all those running will still be able to give mom her due.

The annual race, now in its 21 year, will be Friday evening of Mother's Day weekend. Race organizers hope that the shorter distance and new time will not only draw more runners, but also give props to Mother's Day brunches everywhere.

Here is the news from the race board:

The board of the Rumson-Fair Haven Run is proud to announce a new 5k (3.1 mile) distance for the main event and a new 1 mile family event in addition to the traditional kiddie dashes.  In deference to Mothers Day and the desire to make it a true family event, the Race Committee felt the time and distance change will have a positive effect on the goal to raise money and have as many people in our community participate, as the 5k and the 1 mile distance events truly offer something for every level of runner.

Previously the race consisted of a 5 mile and a 3k.
