Rowers Take to the Navesink for Annual Collegiate Races
Rumson Fair Haven Rowing hosted the second annual collegiate rowing event on the Navesink on Saturday morning.
The Navesink River was glass-like for the 2nd annual RFH Rowing Event on September 24th.
The club invited Rutgers, Villanova, Drexal and Army to race. They hope is to grow the event year by year to be a larger race and to expose the young local rowers to a collegiate level event.
Rumson Fair Haven Rowing is a collaborative program between the two boroughs’ recreation departments. The group has purchased land next to Victory Park which, through public donations will become a new boat house. It is a yearlong rowing program continues throughout the winter with indoor rowing machines and training.

Drexal University took home victories in both the men’s and women’s varsity 1000m races.
