RFH Pop Warner Honors Scholar Athletes

Over 22 RFH Dawgs were recognized as Pop Warner Little Scholars and Michael Villapiano received annual scholarship from the program.

Rumson-Fair Haven (RFH) Pop Warner is a program that takes pride in its athletes performance not on the field, but also in the classroom.

On Monday, the Dawgs' continued the tradition of awarding players and cheerleaders for their academic and community involvement by awarding the RFH Pop Warner 2011 Scholarship to Senior, Michael Villiapiano.

“The winner of this scholarship must have participated in our Pop Warner program, maintained academic excellence and continues to volunteer his/her time with our Pop Warner youth," explained Jay Clark, President of RFH Pop Warner.

Clark said they were happy to award Villapiano with this scholarship because of his strong connection to the RFH Dawgs. "Michael accredited his ability to persevere and to believe in himself and his teammates to the lessons he learned during his years in Pop Warner,” said Clark.

Each year, RFH Pop Warner also awards the most academically accomplished scholar athletes who maintain a minimum 96% grade point average in school and are active in their community.
