Raising Funds for RFH's New Rowing Team

ReGala is slated for Saturday at Navoo Grill Club in Fair Haven

They're calling it the First Annual ReGala.

In an effort to raise funds via a party, or gala, for Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School's new Rowing Team, organizers have chosen to call an event slated for Feb. 1 Navoo Grill Club a ReGala — a play-on-words combination of regatta, a series of rowing races, and gala.

In the spirit of the word regatta, the RFH Rowing Team Booster Club is in race to raise funds for the team's inaugural spring 2014 season, organizers said.

“The mission of the RFH HS Rowing Booster Club is to empower students to realize their personal potential through participation in the sport of rowing,” event co-chair Lauren Vernon said.

So, the ReGala in tandem with a deluxe Booster Club raffle of a 2014 Mercedes Benz CLA are in motion. The gala on Saturday will include  hors d'oeuvres, a buffet dinner with carving stations and dessert as well as local pianist George Severini entertaining with the standards during cocktail hour and the Thom White Band later.

There will also be a silent auction, supported by local merchants and businesses. And the Mercedes raffle tickets will be sold.
