Members of the community are invited to attend a reception welcoming the college crew coaches and other distinguished guests to RFH Rowing's 2011 Rumson Boat Race. The party will be held at the Salt Creek Grill on Friday evening, September 23rd from 6pm -10pm honoring the college crew teams from Army, Drexel, Rutgers and Villanova. Last year's guests included Lt Governor Guadagno, four world champions and Olympians including the only 11 time Summer Olympian (Gold and Bronze Medalist) Coach Ted Nash, Eric Zillmer, the athletic director of Drexel University as well as Pete Dawkins and Rumson Mayor John Ekdahl.
The Rumson Boat Race, a college crew regatta sponsored by the Ray Catena Auto Group and hosted by RFH Rowing, is scheduled for Saturday, September 24th 7am-11am on the Navesink River. The race headquarters and award ceremony will take place at Victory Park in Rumson. Admission to the race is open to everyone and is free.
