A small business update on locally made and imported items

There are a few new things brewing Booskerdoo's first fall in Fair Haven.

The small coffee shop that opened in June boasts on-premise bean roasting and grinding and has a couple of new java menu items to check out as well as homemade pumpkin pies made from local goods.

If you dare try to pronounce one of the shop's new coffees — Guatemala Huehuetenango Rainforest Alliance — a taste of it guarantees "smoothness (in flavor) … It's smooth as anything that you associate smoothness with," a post on the Booskerdoo Facebook page says.

"We are also excited that we'll be offering a bunch of new coffees that will be available through www.booskerdoo.com: Ethiopia Harrar. Ethiopia Sidamo,Tanzania Organic," the post says.

And there's that pie to go with that coffee, too.

Thanksgiving quickly approaching, while many are concerned about ordering turkeys, Booskerdoo boasts its can-free pumpkin pie, made from sugar pumpkins purchased at nearby local gourmet market Sickles in Little Silver. They're taking orders at both the Monmouth Beach and Fair Haven shops.

We'll be checking both out with a visit.
