She Said Yes: RFH Junior Commits to Bucknell

Annie Gilbertson of Fair Haven verbally committed to play lacrosse at Bucknell University.

A student will continue to represent the Bulldogs even after she graduates. Annie Gilbertson, a junior, from Fair Haven has verbally committed to play lacrosse at Bucknell University. 

Gilbertson began playing lacrosse for rec-teams when she was in third grade. Once in sixth grade, Gilbertson began playing for the travel T3 Black Team. According to Gilbertson, playing for multiple teams was not stressful because their seasons allowed her to play continuously.

With lacrosse being a spring sport, it is crucial to get noticed by college scouts during the summer season. Gilbertson was thrilled when she was approached by Bucknell, but it was not just lacrosse that attracted her to the school.

“I didn’t just pick Bucknell because of its team. Its academics and campus were also a big part of my decision,” explained Gilbertson.

Although there is still plenty of time before Gilbertson heads off to Bucknell, she is excited to become apart of the team. After verbally committing to Bucknell, Gilbertson made a trip to her future home which only increased her excitement.

“Right now I am just excited. I am sure I will get nervous when it gets closer but right now I can not wait to get there and play.”

Gilbertson will officially begin her lacrosse college career during the 2013-2014 season.
