School Starts Tuesday for Rumson and Fair Haven Students

Despite delays seen around the area due to the aftermath of Hurricane Irene, schools in Rumson and Fair Haven were fine and school will start Tuesday as scheduled.

While many school districts around Monmouth County are forced to due to the , schools in Rumson and Fair Haven will open on Tuesday, September 6 as scheduled.

Board of Education President Colleen O'Connor said that all systems are go for the Rumson school district, including and , as well, "We are on schedule for the first day of school. School will open as planned on Tuesday." The district calendar shows that on Tuesday and Wednesday school will go to 1:00 p.m. Starting Thursday, students will have a full day.

Over in Fair Haven, the and schools did not see any damage due to the storm either. "Fair Haven Schools experienced no damage and will open on Sept. 6 on schedule," said Superintendent Kathleen Cronin. According to the district website, Fair Haven schools will have a single session on Tuesday and Wednesday and first full day will be Thursday.
