Rumson Schools Get Education Donation

The Rumson Board of Education got a healthy donation to make many new educational enhancements in the district's schools thrive — a check for $129,339 from the Rumson Education Foundation.

The check, the funds for which were culled through several fundraising initiatives spearheaded by the non-profit foundation, was presented at the Wednesday night board meeting.

"The foundation fundraises and then gives the board grants to cover costs for these wonderful additional educational tools," Superintendent Maryrose Caulfield-Sloan said. "One of the grants the funding covered was an anti-bullying video that the third grade did at Small Factory Productions. It is to be used as part of our anti-bullying program and covers schools initiatives of the program mandated by the state. The kids did a great job with it and it features all their voices and talent. It's just so well done."

The video was shown at the meeting.
