Rumson PTO Sends Locals to the Book Fair and Beyond

In all, over 1000 books were donated to three Monmouth County agencies including Red Bank Resource Services, The Boys and Girls Club of Asbury Park, The Collier School.

A message from the Rumson School District Parent Teacher Organization:

More than 300 people turned out to celebrate reading at the Rumson PTO’s annual book fair last week.  

The “To the Book Fair and Beyond” themed fair ran from Saturday, October 15 through Friday, October 21st at the . 

“We were delighted to see so many people excited about reading,” said Lisa James, President of the Rumson PTO. “Visitors to the Book Fair bought books for themselves and also for teachers’ classroom libraries.”

Fair guests browsed the selection of best-selling titles, award-winning books and interactive products. Funds raised from the Fair will be used for various projects in the Rumson schools including seminars, Lunch with a Loved One and Family Day.

Princess Leia from Star Wars and the Rumson Bulldog entertained guests with a book reading and later posed for pictures.

Additionally, the 8th Grade PTO Junior Committee decorated and painted several bookcases that were filled with gently used books donated by the community.
