Rumson, Fair Haven, RFH Schools Set Early Dismissals Due to Snow

All three school districts in the Rumson-Fair Haven area — Rumson-Fair Haven Regional, Rumson and Fair Haven — will have early dismissals today due to the weather.

Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School District will dismiss the earliest, at 11:25 a.m. A post on the high school's website says that students are "encouraged to leave their cars at RFH and take the bus home."

All other activities and athletics will be cancelled for the day, it added.

In Fair Haven, dismissal for Sickles School will be 12:35 and students at Knollwood will be dismissed at 12:45.

"Drive safely and slowly," a tweet from officials said.

"We ask for extra patience, reduced speed when driving near or on our schools' property during inclement weather days, along with an understanding that many factors are taken into consideration on unique weather days such as today's in our decision-making process," a post on the Fair Haven schools website said.

An announcement was made on the Rumson (K-8) district's website that school will be let out at 1 p.m., all extra-curricular activities are cancelled and there is no aftercare today.
