RFH Information Session for the Class of 2016

The Rumson-Fair Haven High School counseling department will be conducting a "Making the Grade Parent and Student Night" for the class of 2016.

The Counseling Department at will be educating parents of upcoming ninth grade students. In order to ease the transition from eighth grade to ninth grade, parents and families are invited to the High School auditorium on Feb. 29, at 7 p.m. for an information session by school counselor Jason Lippart and Supervisor to School Counseling Fran Swift.  

RFH's counselors will be providing families with registration packets and course catalogs and will be talking about topics ranging from common misconceptions about school to familiarity with the overall high school environment.

According to the event’s press release, common questions about scheduling, school expectations, and codes of conduct will also be covered.

"Students are being presented with adult situations and choices when facing their future, and parents are key in these situations," explained Lippart. “The first day of high school is not just another day; it is big and requires support. RFH’s counselors work with all of our families to provide the information and supports for their children.”

With only one Parent and Student Night being held this year, parents are urged to come out on the 29. School tours will begin at 6:20 p.m. and will continue with an information session in the school’s auditorium.

According to the press release, scheduling days for upcoming ninth graders will begin with on March 12, 13, and 14, and will continue with on March 15 and 16. Then will make appointments on March 19, 20, and 21 while  finishes up on March 26 and 27. Make-up dates are currently scheduled for April 11 and 12 and will be by appointment at RFH.
