Monmouth University Encouraging Students To Register To Vote

University hosting voter registration drive Sept. 28.

Monmouth University wants to ensure its students' voices are heard in the November election.

Hawk TV is hosting Rock and Register, a voter registration drive, on Friday, Sept. 28 from 2 to 4:30 p.m. on the patio in front of the Rebecca Stafford Student Center on campus.

The event will be live on WMCX 88.9 FM and recorded to air on Hawk TV, Monmouth University’s student-run television station, and will be seen on campus Channel 12.

Amanda Duncan, Justin Angle and Monmouth’s own first-year student Natalie Zeller are scheduled to perform acoustic acts. Monmouth County Clerk M. Claire French will be interviewed live on Hawk TV and WMCX.

The event also will feature a debate on clean energy policy and panel discussions on hot topics and controversies surrounding the upcoming election.

Refreshments, including hot dogs and apple pie, will be offered to event attendees. Hawk TV also will be collecting donations to benefit the Food Bank of Monmouth and Ocean County. 

The event is co-sponsored by WMCX, the Political Science Club, and The Outlook, Monmouth University's student-run newspaper.
