The Rumson Board of Education is interested in hearing from its Deane-Porter and Forrestdale parents on their views regarding school climate, character education and parenting programs.
A survey link was sent to families by email asking parents to rate whether they agree or disagree with statements like "I feel my child is safe at school," "The homework that is assigned will help my child learn" and "Rumson School District has a positive school climate."
Another section attempts to gauge interest in topics like Career Awareness and Future Planning, Stress Management, Self Control / Self Regulation, Mental Health Issues (eating disorders, depression, anxiety) and Internet Safety. Parents get the choice to respond whether they'd attend a workshop on the subjects.
