A Creative Show of '6' from R-FH Opens

The work of six seniors on display and for sale at the Guild of Creative Art; Opening reception April 18

When it comes to original art and Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School artists, "6" is the number to keep in mind.

That's because the work of six R-FH students will be showcased and for sale in a show aptly entitled "6" at the Guild of Creative Art in Shrewsbury from April 18 to 30.

The six showcased students are all R-FH seniors and in the Advanced Placement Studio Art Class, taught by Kate Okeson. The artists are: Elise Dixon, Charlotte Eisenstadt, Jack Lawler, Sophie Litwin, Emily MacCloud and Maggie Oberle. Their work comes in a mix of mediums including paintings, prints, drawings, ceramic sculpture, and jewelry and will be available for purchase.

"These students are great creative thinkers and I love to see what is, for them, the culmination of years of arts education," said Okeson. "Their work demonstrates not just technical skill, but individual perspectives and concepts that are the result of hard work and dedication."

An opening reception will be held in the main gallery on Thursday, April 18, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and is free of charge as is the exhibit.

The Guild of Creative Art is a non-profit organization dedicated to the visual arts. Its gallery is located at 620 Broad Street in Shrewsbury and is open Tuesdays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
