Should Clarence Clemons Have His Day in Jersey?

Monmouth County Senator Jennifer Beck thinks Jan. 11 should be proclaimed Clarence Clemons Day in the state.

For fans of Clarence Clemons, celebrating the legendary saxophone player's birthday may not be enough.

State Senator Jennifer Beck (R-11), a Red Bank resident who grew up in the area flush with loyal Springsteen and E-Street Band fans, has proposed a resolution making Clemons' birthday, Jan. 11. The day would be recognized throughout New Jersey via a proclamation from Gov. Chris Christie, according to The Bergen Record.

Clemons was an original member of E-Street Band. The saxophone player died last year at the age of 69 after suffering a stroke and several medical complications.
