Mayor Halface recognized the Fair Haven DPW at a borough council meeting.

Mayor Halfacre on behalf of the council and residents took time at a council meeting to recognize the hard work done by the borough Department of Public Works (DPW).

The week of May 15 was National Public Works Week. Halfacre said they did not get word of this until May 18, but wanted to recognize them now. “Were doing this retroactive,” he said.

Halfacre read a proclamation at the borough council meeting on May 24. “Whereas we recognize the contributions which our Public Works makes  everyday toward the comfort and safety of our everyday lives to our health, safety, comfort and quality of our lives,” he read.

Richard Gardella, the Supervisor of the Fair Haven DPW and borough engineer, accepted the proclamation of behalf of the crew. 

 Councilman Lucarelli acknowledged the proclamation and the challenging job the DPW faces everyday.  "I've been working on national studies on transportation and infrastructure and we are facing a national disaster as far as the maintenance and management of our national infrastructure," said Lucarelli to Gardella.  "But here in Fair Haven you and your crew have really kept our quality of lives up and we really appreciate it."
