Freeholders Set 2011 Public Meeting Schedule

Board going 'on the road' to seven municipalities this year.

The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders announced the dates, times and locations for the remainder of its 2011 meeting. Meetings will take place in Brielle, Eatontown, Farmingdale, Freehold, Neptune City, Shrewsbury, Rumson and Wall.

“Several years ago the Board of Chosen Freeholders began taking its meetings on the road to make county government more accessible to the people it serves,” Freeholder Director Robert D. Clifton said. “It encourages participation by many more residents.”

The Board of Chosen Freeholders meet on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. Generally, workshop meetings will be held at 2 p.m. with all regular meetings held at 7 p.m. in the Hall of Records in Freehold. Evening meetings on the fourth Thursdays from March through September will be rotated throughout the county as was done in the past with the workshop meetings on those days held in Freehold at 1 p.m.

According to Marion Masnick, deputy clerk to the freeholder board, the meeting rotation is designed to cover all regions of the county and provide opportunities for residents to attend meetings closer to home or work.
