Fair Haven's 2013 Officials Take Oaths

Appointments, mayor, council stay same

Fair Haven brought in the new year with little change.

Mayor Ben Lucarelli was sworn in to fill the unexpired term of former Mayor Michael Halfacre. Councilman Eric Jaeger was sworn in to his first full three-year seat on the dais, after being appointed to fill Lucarelli's unexpired term on council when he was appointed mayor. Robert Marchese, who won his second term on council in November, was not at the reorganization due to illness.

The council appointments as liaisons remained the same, as follows: Councilman Koch, Public Works and Fair Haven Fields Natural Area Committee; Councilman Marchese, Planning and Zoning departments; Councilman Jaeger, fire and first aid; Councilman Peters, finance and Environmental Commission; Councilwoman Susan Sorensen, Parks and Recreation; Councilman Wilhelm, police.

The Fair Haven Fire Department's Derek DeBree and Daniel J. Kane took their oaths as the new fire chief and deputy. Trudy Wojciehowski was sworn in as captain of the First Aid Squad and Douglas Anderson is captain of the Fair Haven Fire Police.

All professional appointments remained the same as last year. And volunteers were recognized, appointed and reappointed at the brief ceremony. See the attached program for volunteer and professional appointments to positions and committees.
