Women Indicted on Rumson Theft Charges

Two Pennsylvania women allegedly bilked a Rumson victim out of more than $500 in cash.

Two Pennsylvania women have been indicted on charges stemming from an alleged conspiracy and theft by deception incidents perpetrated on a Rumson victim in July.

Tracea S. Wright, 26, and Donna M. Mouzon, 51, both of Pennsylvania, allegedly conspired, by agreeing with one another, to meet with the victim at a pre-arranged location and get a cash payment of more than $500 in an "overt act," constituting indictments on third-degree conspiracy and theft by deception charges, according to the indictment.

The two were also indicted on an attempted theft by deception charge, also a third-degree crime, when they tried to repeat the deceptive act, the indictment said.

The crimes allegedly occurred sometime between July 1 and 19.

According to the initial complaint warrant, both were arrested on July 17, following the second alleged incident.

The two allegedly solicited the funds by deceiving the victim, purposely creating a false impression to obtain the money, the complaint said. No further information was released by police concerning the nature of theft and/or deception.

After the arrest, Mouzon was held on $75,000 bail, with no 10 percent option, and Wright was held on $25,000 bail, with no 10 percent option.

Conditions of release for both were that they not return to the crime scene or have any personal contact with the victim, by phone, mail or any other means.

An indictment does not constitute a conviction.
