Theft, Juvenile Crime Fill Fair Haven's August Police Reports

According to a police blotter prepared by Detective Jesse Dykstra, theft and underage crime dominated police reports during the month of August.

These types of crimes took up over 75 percent of the blotter for the entire month. Among the other incidents that were reported in the blotter were a DWI, possession arrests and criminal mischief.

Below are the reported incidents from the August Blotter unedited:

8/1/11

-Ptl. Hostrup arrested 3 Fair Haven juveniles for possession of CDS (marijuana) and drug paraphernalia (pipe).

8/3/11

-Sgt. Townshend took a report of a stolen credit card from a River Rd. resident.

8/5/11

-Cpl. Koetzner arrested Michael Dahlquist, 37 of Red Bank and charged him with possession of a hypodermic needle.

-Det. Dykstra arrested Patricia Badalamenti, 41 of Eatontown and charged her with theft subsequent to an investigation where money and jewelry were being taken from a River Rd. business.

-Det. Dykstra arrested 2 Rumson juveniles for underage possession of alcohol.

8/6/11

-S.O. Albert took a report of criminal mischief from a River Rd. business.

8/8/11

 -Ptl. Patton took a report of a stolen bicycle from Fisk St.

8/10/11

-Ptl. Hostrup took a report of a damaged mailbox on Pine Cove Rd.

-Ptl. Jarvis took a report of a stolen bicycle from Lexington Ave.

8/13/11

-Ptl. Lagrotteria took a report from a cab driver stating that her fare ran from the cab in the area of Grange Ave. without paying.

-Det. Dykstra took a report of 2 stolen bicycles from a River Rd. business.

-S.O. Reevey took a report of a stolen bicycle from Dartmouth Ave. resident.

8/16/11

-S.O. Albert took a report of criminal mischief from a Spruce Dr. resident reporting that damage was done to her property overnight.

8/19/11

-S.O. Reevey took a report of a theft of an inflatable boat taken from the Shrewsbury River Yacht Club.

8/21/11

-Ptl. Patton took a report of a theft of a bicycle from a Jackson St. resident.

8/30/11

-Cpl. Koetzner arrested a 17 year old Red Bank juvenile for underage possession of alcohol.

-Det. Dykstra arrested a 15 year old Fair Haven juvenile for disrobing in public and underage consumption of alcohol.

-Det. Dykstra arrested a 15 year old Red Bank juvenile for disorderly conduct.

8/31/11

-Ptl. Schneider arrested a 16 year old Belford juvenile for underage possession of alcohol.

-Ptl. Schneider arrested a 13 year old Belford juvenile for possessing imitation firearms and simulation marijuana.

A criminal charge represents an accusation; defendants named are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
