Sea Bright Man to Face Assault Charges
Frederick Cobb accused of beating victim, sending him to the hospital's Intensive Care Unit
Sea Bright police have signed a complaint warrant against a resident for the alleged assault of another borough resident that landed the victim in intensive care in the hospital.
Frederick J. Cobb, 50, of 1072 Ocean Ave./Unit 6, Sea Bright, is accused of assaulting the victim on or about June 28 by repeatedly hitting him “in the face and body” causing him to need treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, the complaint warrant, dated July 10, said.
The alleged assault caused the victim to sustain “a broken jaw, several broken ribs, (and a) bruised liver and spleen,” the warrant added.

The complaint was based on reports taken by police from the victim, witnesses and accused, according to the warrant.
Cobb is scheduled for an initial appearance in Sea Bright court on July 12 at 8 a.m.

Bail was set at $75, 000 with no 10 percent option, by Judge Francis J. Vernoia.
