Rumson Man Victim of Navesink Crash
The 54-year-old is at Jersey Shore University Medical Center's Trauma Unit
A Rumson man was the victim of a serious crash on Navesink River Road early Monday evening.
Emergency workers spent 45 minutes extricating the driver of a 2001 Dodge Viper after the car crashed into a tree on Navesink River Road at about 5:31 p.m. on Monday, according to police.
The driver was identified as Frank Caccavo, Jr., 54, of Rumson. He remains hospitalized at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, Detective Lt. Stephen Dollinger said Monday night.

The accident occurred in Navesink, near the intersection of Navesink River Road with Browns Dock Road, said EMS spokesman Bob Pfleger.
At the scene were Monoc paramedics, Leonardo and Fairview First Aid squads and Navesink Fire Co., said Lt. Dollinger. Caccavo was transported by medevac to the trauma center at Jersey Shore, with Community Fire Co. at the landing zone, said Dollinger.

The crash is being investigated by Cpl. Darrin Simon and Cpl. Nick Caprio of the Middletown Police Traffic Bureau.
