Rumson Man Indicted in Halloween Buy Rite Robbery

Curtis O'Brien faces one count of theft of movable property.

A Rumson man accused of the strong-arm robbery of Buy Rite on West River Road on Halloween was indicted by a grand jury Tuesday.

Curtis O'Brien, 24, of Ridge Road, allegedly went to the liquor store counter with a six-pack of beer, pushed an employee's hands aside and took $814 from the register. He then fled on foot with the beer, according to Rumson police.

O'Brien was indicted on one count of theft of movable property.
