Jury Declines to Indict Rumson Parent Charged in RBR Baseball Brawl

A grand jury did not indict a Rumson man who faced a simple assault charge after a brawl at a Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (RFH) versus Red Bank Regional (RBR) baseball game, according to a story on app.com.

The charges stem from a bench-clearing incident at the end of the RBR home game's sixth inning when Patrick Maisto, the Rumson parent, allegedly attacked a player, the report said.

Maisto's attorney, Mitchell Ansell, of Ansell, Grimm & Aaron, Ocean Township, told the Asbury Park Press that Maisto hired an investigator who ended up getting him exonerated.

However, as a result of the incident, both teams were disqualified for the NJSIAA Tournament.
