Police Nearby Hunt for Theives of Sideview Mirror, Change and 50 Shirts

Some strange items have gone missing and been destroyed lately.

In the past week or so, next door in Red Bank, thieves have shown some strange taste in lifting, among other things, a sideview mirror, a set of sheets, some change from a car and 50 shirts. A Buddha statue also took a tumble at the hands of mischief-makers.

A list of the odd thefts and mischief were reported by Red Bank police recently with no arrests yet made. Take a look at the reports of what went missing, when and from where.

• Police reported the theft of a sideview mirror from a rented U-Haul that was parked on Bowers Place sometime between May 20 and 30. Patrolman Heather Pubylski took the report.

• Police reported the theft of a new set of sheets from a car parked on S. Pearl Street sometime between May 27 and 30. Patrolman Thomas Doremus took the report.

• Police reported an incident of criminal mischief when a someone allegedly knocked over and damaged a Buddha statue in front of a W. Front Street business sometime between May 30 and 31. Patrolman Patrick Kennedy took the report.

• Police reported that someone shoplifted more than 50 shirts from a Broad Street clothing store on May 31. Patrolman David Hicks took the report.

• Police reported that an address sign posted on a prperty was broken on June 1. Patrolman James DePonte took the report.

• Police reported that someone stole cash from a parked car on West Sunset Avenue on June 2. Patrolman Matthew Ehrenreich took the report.

• Police reported that, according to a victim, someone shattered the passenger side window of a car parked on West Front Street on June 4 and stole cash from the center console. Patrolman Jorge Torres took the report.

• Police reported that two cars parked on Waverly Place had loose change stolen from them sometime between June 3 and 4. Patrolman John Camarca took the report.

• Police reported that someone stole change from a parked car on Leroy Place on June 4. Patrolman Jorge Torres took the report.

• Police reported the theft of a purse reportedly containing cash and credit cards, from the Red Bank Train station on June 4. The victim reported that she inadvertently left her purse on bench, left and upon return the purse was not there, police said. Patrolman Jorge Torres took the report.
